Q: Why are you doing this curriculum?
A: Because we have heard from so many children’s pastors that they
want a Vacation Bible School curriculum with better music, videos, and teaching
that doesn’t water down the gospel. We are called Go Fish because we
want to follow Christ’s call to be “fishers of men”. This
curriculum is designed to share the gospel of Jesus Christ and to teach
the importance of the Bible. We want to put the BIBLE back into Vacation
Bible School.
Q: Who is publishing this?
A: We are! The reason so many curriculums turn
into the “same
old thing” is because big publishers are afraid to take risks
and try something new. We aren’t 100% financially dependent
on this because we make our living making music, touring, and recording.
By publishing this on our own, we can do this the way children’s
pastors have been asking for and if it fails...I guess we learned
our lesson!
Q: We know you guys can make great music and videos, but who is
creating the rest of the materials?
A: We have enlisted children’s pastors, educators, and special
education teachers to help us create the best “non-fluffified” Bible
lessons, skits, and crafts on the planet! Other than the overall
vision and creativity, the Go Fish Guys have primarily been involved
in the music, video, and design aspects of this curriculum. (We just
make sure it’s ultra-cool and the teaching is 100% from the
Bible!)
Q: What are some unique aspects of the Backstage With The Bible
program?
A: Because the setting and theme of the Bible
School is a “concert” we
think it will appeal to all age groups and even those hard to reach
boys! We will give kids a behind the scenes look at our tour bus,
backstage at a show, and a state of the art recording studio. Not
only is this unique enough to keep their attention, but it is authentic
because it is coming from a real musical group...us! Another unique
feature is that the backstage passes for the kids are real! If we
come to your area for a concert they can actually use these passes
to come backstage for a “meet and greet” before the concert
where we can encourage them to keep learning about the Bible!
Q: Are you going to try to sell us a bunch more stuff?
A: No! Again, we aren’t your typical publisher. We don’t
need to nickel and dime you to death to meet our bottom line. Along
with our starter kit that includes everything you need, we have 3
additional products. Our Vacation Bible School CD, t-shirt (kids
and leaders), and the official backstage pass for your kids. We will
make many of the typical “extras” available to you FOR
FREE on a special web site. You can download files for promo videos,
advertising postcards, invitations, posters, thank you cards, etc
and you can then use the printer of your choice. This will save you
a ton of money - especially if you have a printer at your church
who can help you out!
Q: So what’s the catch? Why is Go Fish going through all this
work?
A: Our passion is reaching kids for Jesus Christ.
Our business is making “great music for kids that won’t drive parents
bonkers”! We want this curriculum to be so much better and
so much more affordable than the others that churches can’t
help but use it! This will in turn introduce our music to kids all
over the country. It’s a win/win for everybody. You get a great
Vacation Bible School and we get our music introduced to your kids!
Q: How much will this cost?
A: The starter kit (which includes everything you need) will be $150.
Along with that, for $5 a child you receive the Go Fish - Backstage
With The Bible CD, daily lesson stickers, and the official Go Fish
backstage pass (acts as a name tag, kids show it to get into the
different backstage areas of your VBS, and is also valid to come
backstage for a meet and greet at any Go Fish kids concert).
Q: Are you providing a separate pre-school program?
A: Yes, we are including pre-school Bible lessons
for the "Backstage
Bible Study" time. The opening concert, crafts, snacks, and
ending encore times will work fine for your pre-schoolers. We are
also including additional coloring pages for each day along with
extra music to use in your pre-school programs. (The extra music
is from our "Party Like A Preschooler" CD) Since games
are up to you in this curriculum, you can pick whatever age appropriate
games you like.
